Actinium Pharma picks Nitya Ray as EVP

Actinium Pharma said it has appointed Nitya Ray as its executive vice-president, head of product development, manufacturing and supply chain.

Actinium Pharma said Nitya Ray will also see to other key hires in its product development and manufacturing teams.

According to his CV Dr. Nitya G. Ray, Ph.D. has been Senior Vice President of Manufacturing at CytoDyn Inc. since November 24, 2015. Dr. Ray establishes a strategy for the CytoDyn’s manufacturing activities and CMC processes.

He served as Senior Vice President of Manufacturing at Progenics Pharmaceuticals, Inc. until November 4, 2015, where he joined in 2001. Dr. Ray served as Vice President of Manufacturing of Progenics Pharmaceuticals Inc. since March 15, 2004. During his 14-year tenure at Progenics, Dr. Ray was responsible for manufacturing, process & analytical sciences & quality control. Prior to joining Progenics in 2001, Dr. Ray served as Director of Bioprocess Development at Ortec International from 1997 to 2001.

Dr. Ray is an accomplished leader with 28 years of progressive, hands-on experience in strategic planning and execution of process development and manufacturing of biologics, engineered tissue therapeutics, antibody drug conjugates, small molecule and radiopharmaceutical drugs. He has extensive knowledge and demonstrated expertise in diverse technology platforms, product development, pre-clinical, clinical and commercial manufacturing, process and analytical sciences, quality control, global supply chain, quality systems and regulatory affairs. From 1993 to 1997, he held positions at Hoffmann-La Roche in the areas of GMP Manufacturing and Process Development and he served as Research Leader of Biopharmaceuticals.

From 1985 to 1993, he held positions at Verax Corporation, where he developed process technology for biopharmaceutical manufacturing. Dr. Ray holds a Ph.D. in Biochemical Engineering and a M.S. degree in Chemical & Biochemical Engineering from Rutgers University and a B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering from Jadavpur University.
