SEC Approves 8 Ethereum ETFs, Pends Trading Till S-1 Statements are Filed

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has approved eight spot Ethereum ETFs issued by BlackRock, Fidelity, Grayscale, Bitwise, VanEck, Ark, Invesco Galaxy and Franklin Templeton.

The SEC approved the ETFs upon passing the 19b-4 forms of the issuers. The ETF issuers still need to have their S-1 registration statements go effective before trading can begin.

Prior to this week, the lack of engagement between the SEC and the issuers made it seemed like the SEC was not going to approve the Ethereum ETFs.

Earlier this week, the SEC suddenly started talking to issuers, asking for 19b-4 forms to be turned around and sent back in.
