Reddit inks AI content deal with Google ahead of its IPO

Social media platform Reddit has entered a deal with Google. The deal will see Reddit make its content available for training Google’s artificial intelligence models.

The deal is worth about $60 million per year.

The deal is a means for Reddit to generate new revenue amid fierce competition for advertising dollars from the likes of TikTok and Meta Platform’s Facebook.

Reddit is also preparing for a high-profile stock market launch this week. The filing could be available as early as Thursday.

Reddit’s stock market launch would mark the first IPO of a major social media company since Pinterest floated its shares in 2019.
