Ogun State Govt places N50m bounty on killers of finance director, Taiwo Oyekanmi

The Ogun State government has placed a N50 million bounty on the killers of Taiwo Oyekanmi, a director of finance in the office of the state governor, Dapo Abiodun.

Recall that in November, armed men reportedly ambushed a bullion van conveying Oyekanmi after he left the branch of a bank in Abeokuta, the state capital.

The yet-to-be-identified gunmen were said to have gunned him down alongside other occupants of the van in the Kuto area of Abeokuta.

Abiodun Alamutu, the commissioner of police in Ogun, said the group went to the bank without a police escort.

In a statement on Friday, the state government said information provided would be treated with “utmost confidentiality”.

“The Ogun State Government has announced a reward of fifty (50) million naira for anyone with information that could lead to the arrest of the killers of the state’s Director of Finance and Administration (DFA), Mr. Taiwo Oyekanmi, on 29th November, 2023 in Abeokuta,” it reads.

“Information provided would be treated with utmost confidentiality.
