BlackRock and Bitwise Update Their Spot Bitcoin ETF Applications With The SEC

Asset management giant BlackRock has amended its S-1 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for its proposed spot bitcoin ETF.

Bitwise made a similar move on Monday, according to a report by Bloomberg.

The amendments signals ongoing discussions between the SEC and prospective Bitcoin ETF providers. The SEC is yet to approve a spot bitcoin fund and has so far delayed all the applications it has received.

BlackRock updated its filing to include efforts the trust administrator will take to monitor for unusual price movements. The updated filing also included anti-money laundering compliance and an audited statement.

Bitcoin has surged amid speculation that the SEC could be getting ready to finally approve a spot fund. As of press time, Bitcoin is trading just under $42,000, having surged 20.6% over the past month.
