Amazon taps former Microsoft executive Panos Panay to head its Devices business

Panos Panay, an ex-executive at Microsoft, has been tapped to lead Amazon’s Devices & Services (D&S) business.

Panay was with Microsoft for over 19 years, with his latest role being the EVP and Chief Product Officer at the tech behemoth’s Windows + Devices division.

Panay will begin his new role at the end of October.

Panay’s appointment comes a day after Pageone.ng reported that Amazon’s hardware chief Dave Limp would be stepping down by end of the year to head Jeff Bezos’ other company, aerospace outfit, Blue Origin.

Limp was Amazon’s senior vice president of devices and services for more than 13 years.
