Crypto exchange Coinbase has registered with the central bank of Spain and will now be providing exchange and custody services in the country.
Companies offering crypto related services in Spain must register with the Bank of Spain in compliance with the country’s anti-money laundering standards.
Spain will be required to implement a licensing regime for crypto firms under the European Union’s recently finalized MiCA regulation for crypto issuers and service providers set to take effect in 2024.
