Rupert Murdoch has ended his more than 70-year career, stepping down as the chairman of Fox Corp and News Corp.
Rupert Murdoch will be replaced by Lachlan Murdoch, his son, who will become the sole chairman of News Corp and continue as the chair and CEO of Fox.
The news comes just months after the 92 year old scrapped a plan that would have reunited his media empire by merging Fox and News Corp.
Murdoch will be appointed chairman emeritus of both the companies.
