Microsoft’s Chief Product Officer Panos Panay Quits

Panos Panay, the Chief Product Officer at Microsoft, has left the company.

During his time at Microsoft, Panay was well known for his impassioned Surface presentations. Panay had been at Microsoft for nearly 20 years. He began with a stint as Group Program Manager, PC hardware, back in 2004 before serving as Corporate VP of Microsoft Devices for 8 years.

Panay was appointed to his most recent role in 2018.

The news arrives days before a New York City event set to debut new Surface hardware.

Microsoft has confirmed Panay’s departure.
