Tornado Cash’ attacker proposes to undo attack and give back governance control

A proposal has been submitted by a wallet address linked to a recent attack on the Tornado Cash token (TORN).

The attacker is looking to reverse changes made and restore state of governance, a user dubbed Tornadosaurus-Hex wrote in the Tornado Cash community forum.

Tornadosaurus-Hex said that the attacker is reverting the TORN tokens they gave themself – which gave them a controlling share of the governance votes – back to zero.

The attacker had integrated a malicious code into the protocol, thus stealing voting power from others.

A reversal will see and the governance of Tornado Cash’s DAO will go back to token holders.

As a result, TORN was up as much as 10%, according to CoinGecko data, before settling back down.
