WhatsApp now lets you save disappearing messages

Meta Platforms CEO Mark Zuckerberg has announced a new change to WhatsApp’s disappearing messages feature.

Now recipients of disappearing messages can long-press a message and choose to keep it.

The feature still keeps the sender in control of what ultimately happens to the message. The sender is sent a notification when a recipient tries to save a message and can choose if it will disappear or be saved.

If a recipient decides to save a message, and the sender consents, then the message will have a bookmark icon on it and will be viewed in a messages folder.

The feature is rolling out globally in the next few weeks.
