Italy’s data protection watchdog wants ChatGPT’s creator OpenAI to take "useful steps" to address its concerns so that the chat could be reactivated in Italy on April 30.
The watchdog’s chief Pasquale Stanzione said in an interview on Tuesday that the watchdog was ready to reopen ChatGPT if "there is a willingness on the part of OpenAI to take useful steps."
Microsoft Corp-backed OpenAI took ChatGPT offline in Italy in late March after the authority temporarily restricted its personal data processing and began a probe into a suspected breach of privacy rules.
