Police arrests Ibom Air plane hijacker, Okafor Ibe

Police confirmed the arrest of a suspected IPOB member, Okafor Ibe, who hijacked Ibom Air plane.

Okafor, a businessman from Anambra state and staunch supporter of Peter Obi was apprehended after attempting to hijack Ibom airplane. Pageone gathered that he delayed the plane from taking off for more than an hour.

According to eyewitnesses, he stood up in the middle of the plane and shouted that Tinubu should not be sworn in, threatening “war” if it happened.

Before he could be evacuated, the airport security was called, and he was detained. The ordeal caused delays to the 6 pm flight until 7 pm.

In a video obtained by some sources, the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria security men could be seen removing the middle-aged man from the plane as he kept shouting incoherently. The passengers on the plane also expressed concern about him being a flight risk.

Although there has been no official statement from Ibom Air regarding the incident, it has generated a lot of reactions from the public, with some calling for tighter security measures at airports to prevent similar occurrences in the future.
