Twitter goes on another round of layoffs

Elon Musk’s social media platform Twitter has laid off close to 200 staff in another round of layoffs. The affected staff represents ten percent of Twitter’s workforce.

According to a report from the New York Times, the layoffs hit product managers, data scientists, and engineers who worked on machine learning and other features.

Another report by the Financial Times has it that the layoffs were necessary to offset a revenue plunge at Twitter.

Back in November, Twitter had laid off about 3,700 workers after being acquired by Musk in October in a deal valued at $44 billion.
