Twitter to Reverse Political Ad Ban In Search of More Revenue

Twitter is planning to lift it’s ban on political ads.

The microblogging site placed a ban on political ads back in 2019 with the notion that “political message reach should be earned, not bought.”

The social network’s reversal comes at a time when advertisers have been pulling back spending on the platform.

The now Elon Musk company didn’t lay out details about what terms it Is changing but it mentioned on its ads policy page that cause-based ads should be geo-restricted.

One of Musk’s priorities after taking over Twitter has been to boost the company’s revenues. While he has launched a pricier Twitter Blue subscription service that costs $8 per month, the company still has to rely a lot on ad revenues.
