Japanese Ad Agency Dentsu Raided By Prosecutors For Allegedly Rigging Bids For Olympics Test Events

Reports from Japan’s public broadcasting service have it that the headquarters of ad agency Dentsu Inc has been raided by Tokyo prosecutors.

Dentsu alongside events company Cerespo Co Ltd were raided on suspicion of rigging bids for Tokyo Olympics test events, the reports said.

Dentsu Inc offices had been raided earlier this year as the Tokyo 2020 Olympics scandal broadens.

In August, a Dentsu Inc executive was arrested in August on suspicion of receiving bribes from Olympic sponsors. A former member of the Tokyo 2020 Olympics board named Haruyuki Takahashi has also been arrested.

Reports also have it that prosecutors have also searched the home of an unnamed Tokyo 2020 Organising Committee executive who was suspected of having handled the project orders for the test events.
