CNBC reports that David Wadhwani, Adobe’s digital media president, is being tipped to take over from CEO Shantanu Narayen.
Having anchored Adobe’s $20 billion purchase of Figma last month, the 51 year old is now thought of as being in the pole position to take over from Narayen.
Wadhwani has spent more than a decade at Adobe over two separate stints, rejoining the company in mid-2021 after six years in other Silicon Valley executive and investing roles.
Sources close to the company told CNBC that Wadhwani is a strong contender but cautioned that Narayen isn’t leaving anytime soon.
At Adobe, Wadhwani has been at the center of one of the most important shifts in the company’s 39-year history: the move from perpetual licenses to subscriptions.
