American rapper Kanye West has proposed to buy social media app Parler.
Reuters confirmed on Monday that West, who now goes by Ye, is planning to acquire Parler, the social media platform popular among U.S. conservatives.
Parler did not give a deal value but said the deal is expected to close during the fourth quarter of 2022.
Parler was launched in 2018 and marked itself as a free-speech space.
Parler has been reinstated on Google and Apple Inc’s app stores after being removed following the U.S. capitol riots in January 2021.
West has had problems with major social media platforms and has been restricted a number of times.
Most recently, West was locked out of his Instagram by Facebook parent Meta Platforms for posts that online users condemned as anti-Semitic.
