Tencent’s anti-graft push exposes 70 staff and 13 firms

Tencent Holdings has fired nearly 70 staff and has blacklisted 13 companies over bribery and embezzlement incidents last year.

China’s biggest social media and video games company, Tencent, has also reported more than 10 people to authorities over their actions.

Tencent’s anti-graft campaign started in 2019 in line with Beijing’s clamp down on corruption.

One of Tencent’s fired employees
from its digital music department had been currying favours from its suppliers.

Another employee, a sports content staffer, tried to make gains from using a company he controlled to enter a deal with Tencent.
