Tesla delays production of its Cybertruck to early 2023

Tesla Inc has pushed back its plan to begin production of its Cybertruck late this year.

The Electric Vehicle giant now aims to start initial production of its Cybertruck by the end of the first quarter of 2023, Reuters reports.

The delay is prompted by changes and tweaks Tesla is making to some features and functions of the electric pickup.

Tesla is trying to put a strong foot forward in the light of strong competition in the Cybertruck segment.

Tesla is expected to make limited production of the Cybertruck in the first quarter of 2023 before increasing output.

Tesla’s EV rivals Ford Motor Co and Rivian Automotive are ahead of Tesla in launching electric pickups with Ford already looking to
double annual production capacity for its red-hot F-150 Lightning electric pickup to 150,000 vehicles ahead of its arrival this spring at U.S. dealers.
