Germany probes Google and U.S. Big tech’s use of personal data

Germany’s cartel office is examining Google, Amazon, Apple, and Meta’s use of personal data.

The cartel office is specifically after Google News Showcase product, Reuters reports.

The cartel office has determined that Google’s owner Alphabet met the scale threshold required for a company to be subject to new extended supervisory powers.

The office is also considering further cases involving Amazon, Apple and Facebook owner Meta.
