Google buys Siemplify to strengthen internet security

Google has acquired Israeli cybersecurity startup Siemplify.

The acquisition comes at a time when there has been a significant rise in cyber attacks and data breaches.

Google’s need to hedge against security threats has risen in tandem with a $5billion growth in its cloud business.

Siemplify’s platform will be integrated into Google’s cloud.

Reuters reports that the acquisition is estimated to be $500 million.
