Candie Frazier, a content moderator for ByteDance-owned TikTok has sued the video-sharing platform for over exposing her to graphic videos.
The lawsuit has it that TikTok’s content moderators are over exposed to videos of child pornography, rapes, beheadings, and animal mutilation.
Frazier claimed to have screened videos involving freakish cannibalism, crushed heads, school shootings, and suicides.
Frazier also claims content moderators are extremely overworked as TikTok, according to the complaint, requires moderators to watch hundreds of videos per 12-hour shift with only a hour off for lunch and two 15-minute breaks.
Frazier said she suffers from post traumatic stress disorder as a result of all the disturbing videos she has had to watch.
Frazier, who seeks to represent other TikTok content screeners, is asking for compensation for psychological injuries.
Frazier is also asking for a court order requiring the company to set up a medical fund for moderators.
