YouTube and Disney reach agreement, channels restored

Reuters reports that Alphabet Inc’s YouTube and Walt Disney Co have reached a distribution agreement.

YouTube has began restoring access to Walt Disney Co channels on its platform, ending a two-day blackout.

“We’ve reached a deal with Disney and have already started to restore access to channels like ESPN and FX”, YouTube tweet.

YouTube had demanded Disney offered “equitable terms” and announced that it was cutting the monthly price for YouTube TV by $15, from $64.99 to $49.99.

YouTube announced that monthly subscription had reverted to $64.99, but affected users would receive a one-time $15 discount.

In a similar development, YouTube and streaming platform Roku ended their battle earlier this month with a multi-year pact.
