BREAKING: Police investigating ‘bomb threat’ near US Capitol

An “active bomb threat” involving a suspicious vehicle parked Thursday morning near the Library of Congress prompted the lockdown or evacuation of buildings in the U.S. Capitol, according to police and evacuated officials.

According to Kiro7, the U.S. Capitol Police said they were responding to a suspicious vehicle around 9:45 a.m. on Thursday. They later confirmed that the investigation involved “an active bomb threat.”
