Poly Network, a decentralized finance (defi) project has suffered a loss of over $600 million according to various reports.
The hack follows a recent Ciphertrace report on how defi-related hacks and fraud in 2021 have already surpassed 2020. The Poly Network hack on Tuesday is well above the entire year’s worth of defi hacks.
A message released by Poly Network says:
“We are the Poly Network team. We want to establish communication with you and urge you to return the hacked assets.
The amount of money you hacked is the biggest one in the deft history. Law enforcement in any country will regard this as a major economic crime and you will be pursued. It is very unwise for you to do any further transactions.
The money you stole are from tens of thousands of crypt° community members, hence the people.
You should talk to us to work out a solution,” the statement says.
