While reactions continue to trail the news of Senator Orji Uzor Kalu’s interest buying English Premier league club, Arsenal, Nigeria ex-international Vincent Enyeama has urged the politician and businessman to consider investing in Enyimba Football Club.
The former Governor of Abia State, Orji Uzor tweeted via @OUKtweets, earlier this week that he is considering an investment in Arsenal FC with a stake of about 35%.
He wrote: “Our success with Enyimba FC btw 2000-2007 has continuously increased my passion for football.
“As the pillar of sports in Africa,I am considering an investment in football & I will buy 35 percent stake in Arsenal FC @Arsenal.
“Our target is to lift the Champions League & EPL back to back as we did with Enyimba. #OUK.”
However, Enyeama who was the goalkeeper of Aba-based club, Enyimba at the time the senator was the Governor of Abia State thought it would be better to turn the club to a mega club as the country does not boast of any at the moment.
Enyeama who was ex-Nigerian captain shared his thought via his official tweeter account Thursday afternoon while commenting on the story shared by @FastTrackNaija
Why not invest that money in Enyimba and turn it into a mega club.A club that will bring in a lot of sponsors and create job opportunities for the youth.Nigeria has no MEGA club side that we can boast of.what do I https://t.co/FxruB4bWSU mouth keeps putting me into trouble. https://t.co/LvfaAKvFBU

Orji Uzor in his tweet also admitted that Enyimba was successful and the feat achieved between 2000-2007 increased his passion for the game of football. He served as the Governor of Abia State, Nigeria from 29 May 1999 to 29 May 2007.
His tweet read:
“Our success with Enyimba FC btw 2000-2007 has continuously increased my passion for football. As the pillar of sports in Africa, I am considering an investment in football & I will buy 35 percent stake in Arsenal FC @Arsenal. Our target is to lift the Champions League & EPL…”
“and valuable investment as well . Doing what you love and loving it is where greatness lies . I need 35% of Arsenal to bring back trophies. #OUK#Arsenal#TuesdayThoughts”
“commercialized. With Arsenal @Arsenal we will make Enyimba become great again with the strategic partnership we are packaging. We shall turn it around to create a platform for more of our professional players seeking for international exposure A win-win outing for all parties &…”
“As a young man,I embraced business before I walked into politics.I found greatness in trading before the call to serve beckoned. The records out there are evidently confirming this position. I see opportunities & never afraid to make them possibilities. This was richly applied.”
