Apple launches 24-hour Music TV channel

(Seeking Alpha) – Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) Music TV offers a free, 24-hour curated stream of music videos that will include “exclusive new music videos and premiers, special curated music video blocks, and live shows and events as well as chart countdowns and guests.”

The service premiered this morning only in the U.S. through the Apple Music and Apple TV apps.

The programming kicked off with a top 100 list of the most streamed songs on Apple Music. Tomorrow, the station will highlight Bruce Springsteen’s popular videos ahead of his new album, “Letter to You.”

Apple Music TV is the latest of many moves that Apple has made to attract users to its ecosystem, which can in turn drive revenue growth for its Services segment.

In July, Apple reported $13.2B in Services revenue, the second-largest segment performance behind the $26.4B iPhone side of the business.

Apple shares are up 0.8% to $119.97.
