Senate committee to vote on subpoenas for CEOs of Google, Facebook, Twitter

(Seeking Alpha) – The Senate Commerce Committee will vote tomorrow on authorization to subpoena the chief executives of Facebook (FB -0.5%), Google (GOOG -0.1%, GOOGL +0.1%) and Twitter (TWTR -1.4%).

The committee says it will gather at 10 a.m. tomorrow to weigh the subpoenas of Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg, Alphabet’s Sundar Pichai and Twitter’s Jack Dorsey for “purposes of a hearing.”

Last week, the committee signaled its plans to subpoena the execs if they didn’t respond to invitations it issued for them to testify on potential changes to the companies’ Section 230 liability protection.
