The Traditional Religion Worshippers’ Association of Nigeria, Oyo State Chapter, on Tuesday morning 8th September 2020, staged a peaceful protest in the State, to express their sadness over discrimination against their religion.
The Idol Worshippers protested to the Oyo State Government secretariat in Agodi, Ibadan, the state capital, at about 11:00 am on Tuesday.

According to the General Secretary of the Traditional Religion Worshippers’ Association of Nigeria, Dr. Ifayemi Ifakayode, the protest was as a result of the discrimination and marginalization they have suffered in the hands of the Oyo state government, and the refusal of the state Governor to listen to them and approve public holidays for the traditional worshippers.
The President General of the association, Oyo State chapter, chief Olukunmi Egbelade, speaking with newsmen, charged the State Governor to give necessary regards to the their religion and also rehabilitate tourist Centers across Oyo state.
The executive assistant to the governor on Security matters, retired CP Sunday Odukoya, however received the association on behalf of the Governor.
Odukoya appealed to them to be civil in their agitation and gave them assurance that their messages will be delivered to the governor.
