AEW & Impact Wrestlers Attended Tessa Blanchard and Daga’s Wedding

Tessa Blanchard and Daga a.k.a. Miguel Ángel Olivo who got engaged in November last year finally tied the knot on August 22, 2020 in Tijuana. As the two fellow wrestlers got married fans couldn’t get any more happier.  The wedding took place amidst the Covid-19 pandemic, the couple had to delay their wedding in order to make the necessary arrangements for maintaining the social distancing norms. Even travelling to Mexico was an issue due to the current situation. But thankfully, all went well and we saw a beautiful wedding at the end of the day.

Apart from family and friends, several wrestlers from AEW and Impact Wrestling also attended the wedding reception. Tessa Blanchard was signed to Impact wrestling from 2019-2020. She was also the Impact World Champion. In January 2020, Tessa faced allegations by multiple female wrestlers for bullying and racism. It included an incident when Blanchard spat in a black woman’s face and called her a racial slur. Black Rose, the woman who allegedly got spat on, confirmed that the incident did take place although Blanchard denied the allegations. And this came in prime time as theBlack Lives Matter’ movement surged across America.

After Tessa went on a leave due to the pandemic, she was made to depart from the promotion on June 25, 2020 after her contract was terminated before it’s natural expiry on June 30. Blanchard stated her engagement to Daga as one of the reasons to not attend work. Fans speculated of a sour relationship between Tessa and Impact Wrestling.

But as we saw her colleagues from Impact Wrestling making through the trouble of all the travel regulations and social distancing norms and it seems they aren’t holding a grudge against Tessa. At least not all of them. Among the wrestlers who attended the reception were Taya, Gail Kim, Jordynne Grace, Alisha Edwards, Kiera Hogan, AEW Deadly Draw co-winner Diamante, Moose, Melissa Santos. AEW’s Brian Cage and husband were present as well. We saw several photographs of the wedding, thanks to the social media handles of the newlyweds and those who were present at the ceremony and the reception.

The groom, Miguel Ángel Olivo a.k.a Daga is currently signed to Impact Wrestling and Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide where he currently holds the AAA Latin American Championship. Tessa on the other hand is a third generation professional wrestler and daughter of the Four Horsemen member, Tully Blanchard. The couple now resides in Mexico.
