
A 7-year-old girl named Juwairiya Auwal has been slaughtered by a suspected female ritualist inside a small hut in Jos Museum, Plateau State, Nothern Nigeria.
It was gathered that on Saturday 5th of September, the victim and her elder sister Fatima Auwal, went out to hawk brooms as usual, around Tudun OC in Rikkos community, Jos north local government area of the state, when they were accosted by an unidentified Fulani woman.
According to Fatima who narrated what happened on that fateful day, they were hawking when they met the strange Fulani woman who pretended to be a prospective costomer.
Fatima said that the woman asked them to give her a broom for free but they refused. She said that the woman suddenly touched their heads and before they knew it, they found themselves in a hut in the popular Jos Museum.
According to Fatima, when she regained consciousness, she found the elderly woman slaughtering Jumairiya. She said that she was able to escape and get help.
Fatima said that she met a man reading a newspaper and narrated what happened to him, but before they got back to the hut, the woman was no where to be found .
The man then rushed to the nearest police station to report the incident.
The police went to the scene of the incident and picked up Jumairiya’s corpse to the Plateau State Specialist Hospital.
Fatima said that she found the incident strange because her sister was slaughtered, but no trace of her blood was found on the ground or her body.
Sharing photos of the little girl, a man identified as Assiddiq Jibrin Abubakar said that Fatima and Jumairiya’s father was killed by the police during a crisis sometime in October 2019, adding that their mother is unemployed.
The family of Fatima and her late sister lives at Yanshanu Nassarawa Gwom in Jos Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The police has released Jumairiya’s corpse to the family and she has since been buried.
