Former Super Eagles defender, Ajibade Babalade has passed on.
Babalade died at age 48 in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State, on Friday 4th September, after suffering a cardiac arrest.
It was gathered that he died while being rushed to the University College Hospital, Ibadan, on Friday afternoon.
The skillful retired defender was a squad member of the Eagles that won bronze at the 1992 Africa Cup of Nations, which was hosted in Senegal.
Babalade started his professional career at Stationery Stores of Lagos in the year 1990, before several stints at 3 SC, helping the Oluyole Warriors reach the final of the CAF Champions in League in 1996.
He has played professionally with several teams abroad, which includes the Ivoirian side, African Sports, Anyang LG Cheetahs (Korea), SK Sturm Graz (Austria) and Indian club Mohun Bagan AC.
On the 17th of October, 2008 Babalade was named as manager of the Shooting Stars Football Club.
He is survived by a wife and three kids, who are all based in the United States.
