One dead and four injured in Ayetoro accident on Thursday

Tragedy struck Ayetoro on Thursday morning as one person is confirmed dead, while four others injured in an accident involving two trucks on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

This incident was confirmed to the News Agency of Nigeria by the Mowe-Ibafo Commander of the Ogun Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps, Mr. Ojuoro Olusola, in Ota, Ogun State.

According to Olusola, the accident happened at about 6.10 a.m. on at Ayetoro in-bound Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

Olusola said that the accident was caused by reckless driving.

Speaking further, he said that two vehicles, a Mack mini truck marked ABC 720 XG which was loaded with banana and a Volvo truck, marked LSR 492 XK, were involved in the tragic accident.

The incident led to the death of a man, while four other persons sustained different degrees of injuries.

Olusola said that the Volvo truck drove against the traffic and collided with the Mack truck loaded with bananas.

He added that the corpse of the deceased has been taken to a private morgue in Sagamu town, while the survivors were taken to Famobis Hospital, Lotto, Ogun State, for treatment.
