Pub landlady bans kids as ‘they ignore social distancing and parents can’t control them’

A defiant landlady has banned children from her pub after saying she’s become fed up kids behaving badly and ignoring social distancing rules.
According to Mirror,Lucy Draper announced the ban at The Compass Inn in New Forest, Southampton, on the pub’s Facebook page and said the move was a consequence of parents failing to control their unruly children.

The new ‘adults only’ rules banning children under 12 except at Sunday lunchtimes was met with anger by some locals who threatened to boycott the pub, labelling it ‘inconsiderate’ and ‘ridiculous’.

But Lucy hit back at criticism, saying her pub is an “adult environment” and “shouldn’t be a children’s creche.”

Children under 12 will now only be allowed into the pub at 12pm and 2.30pm on Sundays, and Lucy has no plans to reverse the rules once the pandemic eases.
