Mompha released on bail, withdraws suit against EFCC

(Lagos-Nigeria) – The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have released suspected cyber fraudster and Nigerian socialite, Ismaila Mustapha, aka Mompha, about two weeks after he was re-arrested by the agency in Lagos.

Mompha’s lawyer, Mr Gboyega Oyewole (SAN), confirmed that his client was released on bail on Wednesday 26th August.

Oyewole said that Mompha had withdrawn the five million naira fundamental rights suit he filed against the EFCC to because of his re-arrest.

Pageone recalls that Mompha, who is answering N32billion fraud charges before the Federal High Court in Lagos, was re-arrested on the 14th of August, when he went to the EFCC office in Ikoyi, Lagos State to reclaim his properties seized from him by the anti-graft agency last year.
