Ogun serial killer shot dead by police

A suspected serial killer identified as Feyisola Dosumu, aka Spartan, has been killed by men of the Ogun State Police Command.

The suspect was gunned down on Tuesday 25th August, after a manhunt by a team of local vigilantes and Amotekun Corps, led by policemen attached to the Ogun State Police Command was launched in search of him.

This development was confirmed by the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi.

It was learnt that the police had tried to catch him on Monday 24th August, but he escaped.

The suspect was accused of killing many residents in Ogere and Iperu, Ikenne Local Government Area of Ogun State.

Last Friday, Dosumu killed the Vice Chairman of the Oluwatedo Community Development Association, Elder Olatunji Oladeji, by hacking him to death on his way back from work.

Spartan was also accused of raping and killing a nursing mother last month. This incident however prompted a visit from the Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Edward Ajogun, in July.

According to reports, the suspect is a notorious cultist and a drug addict. He is a graduate of a polytechnic in Abeokuta.

Spartan was reportedly admitted to the Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital in Aro, Abeokuta, for mental treatment after he developed a mental problem.

It was gathered that Dosumu escaped from the hospital back to Ogere, and started killing people until he was killed today.
