Ogun police after suspected serial killer who killed a 53-year-old community leader

The Ogun State Police Command is currently searching for a suspected serial killer who reportedly killed a 53-year-old community leader in Oluwatedo, Ogere, in the Ikenne Local Government Area of Ogun State.

It was gathered that the deceased, Olatunji Oladeji, pictured above, was on his way back from work on Friday, 21st August, when he was accosted and attacked by the suspected killer who used a machete to hack him to death.

The suspected serial killer was identified as Feyisola Dosumu popularly known as Spartan.

It was gathered that Spartan has been terrorizing members of the community for years and has evaded police arrest.

Oladeji was rushed to the hospital in the pool of his own blood where he was confirmed dead by doctors on arrival.

Until his death, the deceased was the Vice-Chairman of the Oluwatedo Community Development Association.

Residents of the community alleged that Spartan is a cultist and has killed over 15 persons in the community.

According to residents, many have ran away from their homes out of fear of being killed by the serial killer.

It was also alleged that the suspect used a machete to hack a female nurse residing in the area to death, after raping her, last month.

The residents also said that the suspect had a mental breakdown sometime ago and was admitted at the Neuropsychiatric Hospital, Aro, Abeokuta.

They alleged that he escaped and returned to the community where he started killing some of the residents.

According to the Spokesperson of the Ogun State Police Command, Abimbola Oyeyemi, who confirmed the incident to newsmen, some policemen are currently on the trail of the suspect.

Oyeyemi vowed that the suspect would be arrested and prosecuted according to the law.

She added that five of the state police tactical team have been drafted to the area to search for the suspect.
