Mahlon Reyes of Discovery reality show Deadliest Catch dies at 38

Mahlon Reyes, a deckhand on the Discovery reality show Deadliest Catch has died. He was 38 years old.

According to TMZ, cited by News24, he suffered a heart attack on Saturday, 25 July while he survived it, he never regained consciousness and was taken off life support the following day.

His wife, Heather Sullivan, told the publication that he didn’t have any pre-existing conditions that they knew of.

The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office told E News that they are awaiting autopsy and toxicology reports to determine the official cause of his death.

The Deadliest Catch follows crab fishermen aboard fishing vessels in the Bering Sea. Mahlon first appeared on the show in 2012 and has worked on several boats featured in the show.

His co-star Nick McGlashan paid tribute on Twitter in a number of posts. “This place misses you. RIP Mahlon”, he wrote.

Heather said that he has been cremated and that his ashes will be scattered by some of his co-stars in the Bering Sea.

Mahlon is survived by his wife and four children.
