Kanye West still wants to run for president, files petition to appear in the ballot

American musician and businessman, Kanye Wesy is not backing down from his presidential campaign despite a near-zero chance and his recent domestic tirade with his wife and family.

New York Daily reported that his campaign filed an application on Monday to appear on the ballot in Missouri, The Kansas City Star reported.

Missouri Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft spokeswoman Maura Browning told The Star that West’s campaign just made the 5 p.m. deadline to deliver the signatures. The petition will now be evaluated by local election offices to ensure the signatures came from at least 10,000 registered voters, Browning said.

If the signatures are approved, he’ll appear right next to President Trump and former Vice President Joe Biden on the ballot in November. He has also applied in Illinois and Oklahoma, The Star noted.

While West held a rally in South Carolina, he did not make it onto that ballot.

He could still be elected via write-in, if he gets more votes that way than his competitors, Trump and Biden. He has boasted he can beat them.

Meanwhile, he’s hoping to appear as an independent candidate in Missouri.

After he ranted on Twitter, abusing his wife and her mother, Kim Kardashian has came out in defense of her husband, attributing his erratic behavior to bipolar disorder and other pressures, and asking the public for compassion.
