BREAKING: 20 years old man stabbed to death in Birmingham

(United Kingdom) -A teenager has been arrested after a 20-year-old man was stabbed to death in a four-star hotel last night.

According to Mirror, the victim was found fatally wounded at the Crowne Plaza hotel in Birmingham at around 7.20pm.

Hotel staff tried to save him until paramedics arrived and took over CPR.

He was rushed to hospital where he later died from his injuries.

West Midlands Police say a 19-year-old has been arrested this morning and remains in custody.

Detective Inspector Jim Colclough, who is leading the murder investigation, said: “A young man has tragically lost his life and our thoughts are with his family after receiving such shocking news.

“They have been fully updated with news of our arrest and are being supported by specialist officers.”

Police say the victim and the teenager in custody are thought to have known each other.

A West Midlands Ambulance spokesperson said: “We were called at 7.22pm to reports of a stabbing in Crowne Plaza, Holliday Street, Birmingham.

“Two ambulances and a paramedic officer attended the scene with the first crew arriving within two minutes of the 999 call being made.

“When ambulance staff arrived the found a man in cardiac arrest being given CPR by hotel staff.

“They quickly took over resuscitation efforts and continued emergency treatment on the man en route to hospital where, upon arrival, his condition was described as critical.”

The Crowne Plaza Birmingham said it would not be making any comment.
