Police hopes tattoo will help identify dead man found in Harlem River

Harlem River

Police on Saturday released photos of an arm tattoo they’re hoping will help identify a dead man found in the Harlem River earlier this week.

According to NyDailyNews, the victim, described as a Black man in his 60s, was found floating in the waters near Exterior St. and Depot Place in the Highbridge section of the Bronx around 1:15 p.m. Tuesday, cops said.

The victim had no identification on him and his face was too bloated to be identified, police sources said.

The only identifying mark on him was a tattoo of the name “Mary” written in script on his right forearm, cops said.

It was not immediately clear how long the victim had been in the water.

An autopsy has been scheduled to determine how he died.
