APC dissolves National Working Committee

Buhari

The National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress, APC has been dissolved, the decision has just been taken at the ongoing Party’s NEC Meeting.

In a surprising move yesterday, President Mohammadu Buhari said he will be backing the Giadom led faction of the All Progressive Congress, APC.

A statement signed by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity,  Mallam Garba Shehu, the president, he said:

“The President has received very convincing advice on the position of the law as far as the situation in the party is concerned and has determined that the law is on the side of Victor Giadom as Acting National Chairman.”

“Because he will always act in accordance with the law, the President will be attending the virtual meeting Giadom called for tomorrow afternoon.”

“We urge the media to stop promoting manufactured controversies and to not give any further room for mischievous interpretations of the law on this matter.”

“In addition to the President, the Giadom meeting will, hopefully, be attended by our Governors and the leaders of the National Assembly,” the statement said.

It would be recalled that an Appeal Court sitting in Abuja had reaffirmed the removal of Comrade Adams Oshiomole after which Giadom declared himself declared himself as the chairman of the party.

While the Oshiomole-led National executive council of the party had appointed Senator Ajibola Ajimobi as its acting national chairman, Giadom vowed to continue as the authentic chairman of the party.
