Ghana tenders apology to Nigeria, arrests suspects over demolition of Nigeria High Commission building


Following a demolition attack against the Nigeria High Commission compound in Ghana, President Nana Akufo-Addo of Ghana has rendered an unreserved apology to Nigeria.

According to a statement by the Senior Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on public affairs, Mallam Garba Shehu, President Akufo-Addo called the president on the matter earlier today, expressing his sincere apology for the demolition of a building on the premises of Nigerian High Commission in Accra, Ghana.

“In a telephone call, the Ghanaian leader told President Buhari that he has directed a full investigation into the incident.”

“Earlier in the day, it further emerged that some suspects had been arrested, and will be arraigned in court,” he said in the statement.
