The All Progressive Congress,g APC, screening committee has disqualified Governor Godwin Obaseki as an aspirant in the upcoming gubernatorial elections in Edo state.
The screening committee said Governor Godwin Obaseki is unfit to qualify on the grounds that his HSC and NYSC certificates are defective.
In the last two years, Governor Godwin Obaseki had come in direct collision with his immediate predecessor, Comrade Adams Oshiomole, the current National President of the APC.
After several reconciliations and mediations, the two parties have not resolved their differences. While Obaseki has publicly threatened Oshiomole that he will be dealt with if he enters the state to forment trouble.
In a swift response to his disqualification, Obaseki said
“We call on all party members and our teeming supporters to remain calm and await further directives, in the light of the announcement of my unjust disqualification to participate in @OfficialAPCNg primary election in Edo State by the screening committee.”
