Ronaldo’s teammate at Juventus tests positive to coronavirus

Italian giants Juventus has confirmed that one of its defenders Daniele Rugani, tested positive for COVID-19.

Rugani, a player with the Italian senior national team is part of the current squad participating in the Serie A and other international club competitions.

The club in a statement said Rugani and “those who have had contact with him” are being isolated. It also said Rugani is not showing any symptoms of the disease.

The player was an unused substitute in the team’s last game, at home against Inter Milan last Sunday. Rugani was seen celebrating the win alongside his teammates in the dressing room.

Matches in the Serie A were played behind closed doors at the weekend but stiffer measures have been initiated which would see all sports suspended until April 3.

Meanwhile Juventus had said earlier that forward Cristiano Ronaldo was still in Portugal “pending developments related to the current health emergency” after visiting his mother who had a stroke last week.
