Vietjet Air stops all flights to South Korea over coronavirus

Vietnam’s budget carrier Vietjet Air, said it will suspend flights to destinations in South Korea from Saturday over coronavirus concerns.

As the Novel Coronavirus continues to spread across the world, Vietnam has suspended visa-free travel for South Koreans, and airlines Bamboo Airways and Vietnam Airlines have both suspended South Korea flights.

Earlier today, the budget carrier said on its website that: “Vietjet earlier scaled down the number of flights to South Korea,”

“The suspension is effective from March 7.”

Last week, Vietnam said its entire tally of 16 infected people had been cured and released from hospitals, with no new cases since Feb. 13. Nigeria and other African countries have not banned flights to China and South Korea but they have limited flights from Southeast Asia to major airports with capacities to screen passengers.
