U.S. family dining restaurants chain, Perkins & Marie Callender’s has just filed for bankruptcy.
The notice is contained in a filing submitted to the U.S. bankruptcy court in Delaware.
The company has now filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection from its creditors.
The eventual bankruptcy is coming a few weeks after media reports indicated that the company was considering a possible sale through the bankruptcy process.
According to a report by Reuters, Perkins & Marie Callender’s also filed for bankruptcy 11 in 2011, and emerged that year under the control of Wayzata Investment Partners. Wayzata remains its majority owner, according to Monday’s bankruptcy petition.
