
China’s Huawei Technologies Co Ltd saw a surge in its smartphone sales in second quarter across China.
According to a latest report by Canalys, the telecoms giant saw a major growth in its mobile shipment despite China’s decline smartphone market.
In the second quarter, Huawei, the world’s second largest smartphone maker saw its mobile shipment rose by 38% while its competitors saw a decline.
Huawei achieved 37.3 million smartphone shipment across China a growth of 31% year-on-year.
The growth for Huawei is coming despite a market decline of 6% in the three months ended June to 97.6 million.
Huawei is seeing a boost in its market share after the company was added to the U.S. ‘Entity List’ by the Department of Commerce, a status than bars the Chinese telecoms giant and 70 other affiliates.
The company has seen a surge in its sales after it used aggressive offline sales and patriotic approach to get local interest.
