Nigeria’s largest mobile carrier, MTN Nigeria Communications Plc has appointed several directors to its board, a major move after it listed on the Nigerian Stock Exchange, NSE.
It would be recalled that MTN Nigeria listed its shares on the exchange becoming the second-largest most capitalized stock on the exchange.
The new board changes at MTN Nigeria include the first minister of communications, Mr. Erest Ndukwe, former minister of technology, Mrs Omobola Johnson and other highly connected bureaucrats.
Analysts who cover the industry told PageOne that the company could be making the appointments to ensure it is in close proximity to decision-makers and power brokers regulating the telecoms industry.

MTN Nigeria has announced the retirement of its long serving non- executive directors from the Board of the MTN Nigeria at the resumption of newly appointed Board on 02 September 2019.
